By combining this data with viewing rates, data from VOD platforms and social media, we can show how people appreciate content, right down to the level of a scene and event.

APPROACH

Our approach is generic and based on academic, media-aesthetic analyses. Yet, it does justice to the individuality of each format. We create a network of connected scenes of any format, series, show or film and make all desired parts measurable in real time.

 

Our interfaces and data visualizations are simple so that not only data scientists can work with them. Creative producers can also add relevant data and follow the format closely.

BENEFITS

Breaking down a format into time-stamped data points allows us to compare formats in
detail, even in different territories. We analyze the audience's appreciation of props, scenes, events, activities, or character archetypes ('drama queen'). Our insights support creative teams in making decisions that increase their chances of recommissioning their formats.

By adding cost price to the different acts or scenes of a format, international formats can be compared on the price per act or scene, per area. This leads to cost-efficiency insights of the production process without compromising the attractive elements of the format.


Finally, by knowing how characters perform, how they interact with (sponsored) props, or
how long they are on screen, we accurately measure the commercial value of product
placement. This increases the commercial value of the format.
